We are a growing and dynamic team with exciting times ahead. We are seeking a registered nurse to join the Team. The post is suitable for those wishing to develop their career as a specialist. You do not have to be an expert now as we provide a comprehensive individualised personal orientation and a professional development plan which will be tailored to your current skills and experience. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a well-established Neuromuscular Care Advisor and together you will contribute to the multidisciplinary team facilitating effective management of patients with neuromuscular conditions.Main duties of the jobTo deliver high quality patient care, acting as a role model for nursing practice across the Specialty and Trust. To provide clinical nursing advice and education within the speciality of Neuromuscular disorders. To act as a source of advice and knowledge of neuromuscular disorders and their management for patients, carers, health and social care professionals. To collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in the provision of optimum care throughout all aspects of the patients care pathway and in all clinical settings for patients with neuromuscular disorders under the care of a consultant neurologist at STH.About usThe Neurology Outreach Department supports its staff to develop innovative healthcare services within subspecialist teams. Registered General Nurse Valid NMC Registration Advanced Diploma in Nursing or equivalent 1sr degree or working towards To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998.

Evidence of Leadership and management Development Evidence of post registration education relevant to the role Recognised Counselling Skills Certificate or Willing to undertake
ExperienceEssential
Experience of Complex patient management Relevant experience with a proven interest Neuromuscular disorders or other progressive conditions Proven management and leadership experience at ward level or similar Proven experience in the understanding of and communication with individuals with complex needs and patients who have life limiting conditions Experience of effective time management and ability to prioritise own workload Experience of working within safeguarding procedures
Desirable
Experience of Neuromedicine or Neurorehabilitation Experience of palliative care and end of life pathways Experience of working in Primary Care /community setting Audit and research experience
