What we are looking for
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team. As a Network Engineer you will play a crucial role in supporting, implementing and maintaining our network infrastructure. Your expertise supporting Cisco, SDWAN, load balancing, Firewalls and Wi-Fi technologies will be essential in ensuring the reliability, scalability and security of our network.
Within this role you will be responsible for supporting BAU requests, incidents and escalations and delivering against project implementation tasks.
This is a hybrid role with one day a week in our Leighton Buzzard office.
Key Responsibilities
Implementing network infrastructure solutions based on business requirements and best practices
Support and maintenance of our core network infrastructure
Monitor network traffic, analyse network performance data, and identify and resolve network issues
Perform BAU changes across all systems under our change control process
Troubleshooting network incident investigations in our LAN and WAN environments
Work closely with 3rd party suppliers such as network providers, network security providers, and service partners
Creating low-level and high-level design documents for network infrastructure projects
Configuring and managing our portfolio of network products and technologies including Cisco and Checkpoint
Troubleshooting network-related issues and providing solutions to improve performance and reliability
Conducting network assessments and audits to ensure compliance with security policies and standards
Collaborating with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of network infrastructure projects
Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to network infrastructure and security
Participating in the on-call rota
Essential Skills
Minimum of 5 Years' experience in a similar role
Minimum CCNA certified
Experience of troubleshooting complex enterprise networks and associated technologies
Experience of using tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG and other troubleshooting tools
Experience of administering and troubleshooting the following technologies and platforms
Cisco ACI / APIC
Cisco ASA and Firepower
Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switching
Cisco ISE
SD-WAN
Checkpoint Gateways and Maestro
Meraki switches and Access Points
A10 Load Balancers
