Contract : Permanent
Working hours : 35 hours per week Salary : London - Circa £70,000 dependent on experience Location : London Docklands - our permanent hybrid policy sees us all working at least four days across a fortnight in the office.
Our infrastructure department provides the foundation for all IT services and delivers communication services for the organisation. As an Network Engineer, you’ll specialise in a particular range of technology or systems, supporting, designing and implementing technology in your area, overseeing technical services that have a significant impact on our ability to deliver a great service for our customers. You’ll be using advanced technical knowledge to deliver improvement and project work to make sure the systems in your area are working effectively and have the capability needed for the future.
You will have a deep passion for all things network and security, on-prem and cloud; along with a genuine enthusiasm for learning new skills and technologies to solve real world problems and refine our infrastructure operations. Key responsibilities
One of the “go to” people for anything related to the systems you’re implementing, improving and supporting Build strong relationships with other teams and users to identify and understand requirements and improvements that can be made Take and share ownership of new technical developments in your area Own the way escalated technical problems are dealt with and to liaise with third parties to sort out incidents and technical problems Take ownership of new system development You’ll be delivering upgrades and improvements in your area Write and maintain technical documents for the technology and systems in your area – you’ll need to update these regularly in line with our agreed standards Identify areas of improvement in the technology in your area by analysing information and thinking about the impact for the customer – you’ll also research the latest relevant technologies and products in the market, helping senior colleagues make crucial decisions Become our hands-on expert in the way technology services are put together in your area – by working closely with your team and wider infrastructure department

You’ll have to meet the following minimum criteria:
Strong experience working as a network engineer, able to demonstrate the ability to deliver a mixture of implementation, maintenance and operational support for our technologies & systems Strong experience working in a technical team where you’ve been resolving technical problems and delivering upgrades and improvements Defining technical solutions to meet requirements – you’ll have carried out implementation and detailed level support Writing and maintaining design, installation and configuration documentation. Using your technical knowledge and advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complicated technical problems
Technical Criteria Accredited with the Cisco CCNP Enterprise or Security or having equivalent experience Experience of deploying, configuring and maintaining Cisco routing and switching platforms, including Cisco SD-WAN, Catalyst 9000 switches, Nexus data centre switches and Cisco wireless products Excellent knowledge of IP routing technologies for Campus, Data Centre and WAN Edge (OSPF and MP-BGP routing protocols, BGP EVPN and OMP) Overlay and VPN Technologies (VXLAN, IPSec and MPLS) Maintaining, configuring and administering Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama security policies Experience with Cisco AnyConnect security solution, including supplicant & VPN client software and ASAv headends Maintaining and configuring F5 BIG-IP LTM and DNS modules for load balancing, along with BIG-IQ management system Maintaining and configuring Cisco ISE, along with experience in NAC security policy management and a good working knowledge of 802.1x Designing, deploying and managing Azure cloud IaaS network, security and compute technologies (VNets, networks, load balancers, route-servers, NVA’s, NSG’s etc) Appreciation, exposure or operating experience of infrastructure as code / automation and scripting or similar management tools
