Overview of role
In this role as a Net Zero Carbon Engineer, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to commercial Real Estate clients on achieving energy and carbon reduction objectives. Ideally with an BEng/Meng, you need to be comfortable sitting in a design team meeting but also know your way around a plant room. Your day-to-day tasks will involve developing and implementing carbon reduction strategies, conducting energy audits, and analysing energy efficiency measures.

Role responsibilities and requirements
energy and sustainability strategies on new build and operational buildings
EPCs and Net Zero Carbon Action Plans
energy audits
performance energy and carbon analysis and assess against CRREM.
with a range of developers, architects, engineers, contractors & manufacturers
planning reports for UK planning applications
development i.e. pitches and proposals
relationship development and management
juniors consultants with their development
Key skills and qualities needed
Engineering or other building related degree
years work experience in energy consultancy
Energy Assessor
conducting Energy Efficiency Audits on commercial buildings
delivering ESOS
good understanding of the commercial drivers to sustainability
to present at business meetings
report writing and presentation skills
in ‘passive and active’ sustainable design including building fabric, building services and renewables
of Net Zero Carbon, NABERS and ESG objectives
of the UK planning process, environmental legislation
