We do this by providing expert energy & whole life carbon advice and sustainability accreditation services.With roughly 80 percent of the predicted building stock for 2050 already in existence today, there is a huge need—and opportunity—to retrofit existing assets.We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Net Zero Carbon Consultant to join our team to help us deliver on ourcarbon reduction services.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time remote role for a Net Zero Carbon Consultant at Verte. Our service lead has over 20 years’ experience delivering low carbon solutions in design and operation.We have a very supportive culture and you will have full technical support and guidance by the service lead, whom you will report directly to.As a Net Zero Carbon Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to clients on achieving energy and carbon reduction objectives. This enables climate impact reduction, better returns, long-term value retention and avoidance of stranding or obsolescence.Ideally with an BEng/Meng, you need to be comfortable sitting in a design team meeting but also know your way around a plant room.Your day-to-day tasks will involve developing and implementing carbon reduction strategies, conducting energy audits, and analysing energy efficiency measures. Additionally, you will collaborate with clients and stakeholders to identify sustainable practices and support their journey towards net zero carbon.Benefits:The salary range for the role is £45,000 - £60,000 per year.Remote working (needs to live near London)Flexible hours28 days holidays a yearDiscretionary bonusMedical coverWorking abroad allowance (2 weeks)Professional subscriptions coveredResponsibilitiesLead energy and sustainability strategies on development projects and buildings in operation.Produce EPC improvement plans and Net Zero Carbon Action Plans for existing buildings.Conduct energy audits, building performance energy analysis to conserve operational energy consumption, reduce carbon emissions, and assess against CRREM.Engage with a range of developers, architects, engineers, contractors & manufacturers.Produce planning reports and provide advice and guidance to clients and project teams.Manage own workload to meet project deadlines.Be responsible for own personal and professional development with support from senior teamReport to the Director and manage projects, resourcing and ensuring the delivery of projectsBusiness development i.e. pitches and proposals.Client relationship development and management.Assist with expanding client base, pitches and tenders.Support juniors with their development.Contribute to knowledge sharing across Verte and assist improve processes across Verte.Support the growth of the business through building client relationships, building our team and promote the Verte cultureKey Skills and ExperienceLicensed Energy Assessor3-4 years work experience in energy consultancyA Sustainability or Engineering degree or equivalent experienceExcellent research and analytical skills.Good attention to detail and meticulous approach to assessment.Confident to represent the company at meetings.Good report writing and presentation skills.Interest in ‘passive and active’ sustainable design including building fabric, building services and renewables.Understanding of Net Zero Carbon, NABERS and ESG objectives.A good understanding of the commercial drivers to sustainability.Knowledge of the UK planning process, environmental legislationDesirable, experience delivering ESOS projects and IES-VE.
