Role – NDT Inspector
Location – Newport
Salary - £37,000 - £38,000
This is an excellent opportunity for an experience NDT Inspector to join an established engineering business in Newport.
This market leading engineering company operates an international network of facilities serving a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive and oil & gas.
The Non-destructive Testing inspector will efficiently run and maintain the NDT facility and follow company procedure and customer order requirements.
Main responsibilities:
Carry out daily inspection checks
Responsible for maintaining the NDT facility including NADCAP and customer approvals
Responsible for stock replenishment within the NDT facility
Support the quality and production departments where permissible with incoming and final inspection activities
Support internal lab with metallographic preparation and testing
Ensure that components are finished accordingly to the quality standards / process documents for each application
Inspect parts before and after processing to ensure preceding operations have been carried out correctly and to verify that your own work has met the required standards
Become familiar with the “check –work-check” process and be committed to a “right first time” approach to all tasks carried out
To enable the company to meet its own legal duties and to report any hazardous situations or defective equipment
Ensure a high level of communication to employees, managers & colleagues
Qualifications, experience and skills:
Qualified to EN4179 Level 2 or equivalent
Documented NDT experience within the aerospace industry
Experience within a NADCAP approved NDT facility
Competent in the use of measuring equipment and measuring techniques
Experience in reading engineering drawings
Salary / package:
Eligibility to annual bonus
