We are looking for a Project Officer to support and create nature recovery networks through project development and delivery
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and talented Nature Recovery Project Officer to join The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside (LWT) to work on a variety of projects, with 40% of time being devoted to the Wet Willow Wildlife project.
Wet Willow Wildlife is a new project in which Lancashire Wildlife Trust and The Conservation Volunteers will be working together to:
Boost survival of wet willow species such as willow tit through creation of habitat corridors at a landscape scale,
Involve people and improve skills through surveying and habitat conservation volunteering opportunities and
Run a community engagement programme to connect more people with their local nature.
The project is funded by the Government's Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency.
The post-holder will focus on the species and habitat aspects of the Wet Willow Wildlife project, working to improve the network of wet willow habitat to facilitate the survival and aid the abundance of its many associated species via targeted habitat creation, restoration and connecting works across the landscape of Greater Manchester and north- west Cheshire. Surveying through Citizen Science approaches is a key feature of the project, with data being mapped, analysed and used to create a blueprint for further wet willow nature networks.
Other project work will revolve around LWT’s nature recovery partnership aims, on existing and new projects in the Great Manchester Wetlands and across Lancashire.
We’re looking for someone who is flexible and highly organised, with good communication skills who can build productive relationships with a range of people to help us deliver our ambitions around nature recovery and connecting people with nature.
The successful candidate will be practical and versatile, a team worker able to provide effective support for Wet Willow Wildlife and other nature recovery projects to deliver successful outcomes.[rm_search]#####-04-28 23:45:20;yes;Bolton;Lancashire Wildlife Trust;£25,912.00 per annum (Annual pay review pending April#####4);Further details including a full Job Description can be found in the Recruitment Pack below, along with our application forms.
