Main Purpose of the Job:
The National Membership Director plays a pivotal role in leading Make UK's membership growth and maximizing engagement efforts, aligning with our corporate strategy. This senior position collaborates closely with the CEO and COO to develop, inform, and shape Make UK's manufacturing policy and representation mandate.
Key Responsibilities:
Enhance, develop, and implement a comprehensive membership growth and engagement strategy.
Develop and implement a membership offer that embodies Make UK's brand values and maximizes revenue opportunities.
Expand the membership base in new, emerging, and underrepresented industry sectors.
Review the current membership team structure to ensure efficient and effective support delivery to members.
Lead and manage a team of regional membership and Executive Assistant professionals.
Grow existing regional commercial partnerships and identify new relationships to enhance member engagement.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with members and stakeholders across key regional media, political, and academic environments.
Responsible for reporting on membership growth, retention, and engagement metrics according to corporate strategy.
Lead and develop internal and external partnership activities to maximize revenue opportunities.
Background:
Senior leadership and management experience, including a track record of delivering results in membership, customer service, or commercial roles.
Excellent communication and diplomatic skills.
Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to work well in a team.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Graduate-level education with evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable: Project management experience/qualifications.
Desirable: Strong understanding of the UK industrial, manufacturing, and related services sector, including a track record in stakeholder, media, and policy engagement.
