Multi-Skilled Shift Lead - Belfast - Salary £46950Your New Company Our client is a well established, household name with a site in Belfast and others throughout the rest of the UK.Your New Role Whilst working as a Multi-Skilled Shift Lead your primary objective is to provide engineering resources in carrying out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, refurbishment, installation, improvements and modification or upgrade to plant and services in order to minimise downtime and maintain the equipment in the best possible condition. To strive towards continuous improvement of all machinery and equipment in order to effectively reduce engineering downtime, thereby maintaining plant availability, efficiency, productivity and product quality at all times. To carry out all engineering work to high Engineering, Quality, Safety and Hygienic standards. The role holder will be involved in dealing with employees at all levels of the business and liaising with different departments as needed.Whilst on shift your core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Ensure all engineering work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner, in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice, Health & Safety legislation and current Company Standards • To work across mechanical and electrical trades as qualified and authorised • Fault diagnosis and breakdown repairs of process equipment and plant equipment and site services. Liaise with the Planning Manager on the daily workload to ensure priorities are understood and correct resources are allocated efficiently.Support, train and coach relevant employees in all aspects of shared maintenance • To work with or lead Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve production processes • Ensure in-depth handovers to include oncoming shift, management and engineering stores personnel • Proactive involvement in project work and change management processes • Decisions made within the Electrical at Work act and site Electrical Code of Practice (ECOPS) • Control of Authority to Work, Permit to Work and Isolation and Lock Off while on shift • Managing contractors to ensure relevant standards are met with due regard to safety, hygiene and quality.What You'll Need To Succeed In order to be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills, traits and qualifications: A team player • Excellent communication skills • Able to train, coach and assist operators and other engineers • A Higher National Certificate (HNC) in an electrical, automation or multiskilled engineering discipline is desirable, supported by suitable experience • Enthusiastic and motivated, with a passion for continuous improvement • Be flexible and co-operative to assist in meeting business needs.What You'll Get In Return You will earn a salary of £46950 working on a continental shift pattern.
