Due to the current order book of our clients business, they are now recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team in the Halewood / Speke area on a 12 Month FTC with the potential to progress to permanent.

This role offers the opportunity to work for a true independent market leader and established global brand. With a long established presence on a UK wide scale and a consistent order book this opportunity will appeal to a candidate looking for job security and a technical challenge.

Role Description

  • Planned and reactive Maintenance of facilities and equipment to promote maximum uptime.
  • Work with the Engineering team to improve average time between failures and average time to repair.
  • Use Pirana CMMS to develop and deliver Preventative Maintenance Schedule and log all work undertaken.
  • Liaise with production team to improve professional standard of machinery and ensure continued production.
  • Liaise with contractors as required, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety standards, also supporting safety culture across site.
  • Support with the management and maintenance supply of spares.
  • Maintain housekeeping through IPS disciplines.
  • Support with continuous improvement activities (waste walk actions, Kaizen etc.) throughout the Plant
  • Assist with projects as requested by management, providing maintenance and installation support.
  • Fault finding and equipment development to promote increased uptime.
  • Ensure compliance to ISO 14001 (Environmental) /18001 (H&S) Standards
  • Routinely work within the the Facilities Department to enhance understanding of all plant-based equipment and systems.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Time-served Engineer, to HND / degree level with a strong Multi-Skilled skillset.
  • 18th Edition (BS7671) advantageous.
  • Proven experience of maintenance, within a high volume, highly regulated environment, working individually and within a team.
  • Proven experience in dealing with complex manufacturing equipment (welding, fabrication, automated assembly) including robot programming and PLC interrogation.
  • PC literate, excellent organisational and communication skills, strong sense of urgency and an ability to work under pressure. Confident decision making and problem solving skills, with a hands-on approach.
  • Understanding of Lock out Tag out (LOTO)
  • Knowledge of DC tooling, Barcode Scanning, Material handling, Electrical testing, and Vision systems advantageous.
  • Experience of equipment to assist with working at height, MEWPS
  • Plastic welding- Heat Stake and Ultrasonic advantageous
