OBM is currently recruiting for a Multi Skilled Crane Operator for our client ASCO Teesworks based in Teesside, Middlesborough.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient support to the quayside operations by application of a range of skills in the operation of quayside plant and machinery in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, industry best practice and our Client's company procedures.
Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct daily checks of plant and machinery and complete associated compliance documentation.
Operate plant and machinery at the quayside or other designated areas.
Operate plant and machinery only to company HSSEQ safe working practice, manufacturer's advised guidelines and our Client's Global Lifting Procedures.
Operate plant and machinery only under direction of a designated and clearly identified Banksman.
Assist Fitter as and when required in the maintenance of crane.
Visually inspect all cargo prior to forklift operations and in compliance with operation procedures.
Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner, in accordance with our Client's Global Operating Procedure and Global Lifting Procedure.
Ensure that Global Lifting Procedure, standing instructions and safety standards are complied with at all times.
Take part in effective LiveSafe conversations before commencement of job task and/or when conditions change.
Regularly review procedures, work aids and risk assessments.
Conduct LiveSafe Interventions (LSI) and record for inclusion on base scorecard and Livesafe Gateway.
Attend and contribute to monthly safety meetings.
Ensure the correct use of Forklifts and Lifting equipment as set out in legislative and procedural policy; If authorised to carry out lifting activities (Forklift Operations / Banksman and Slinger duties), ensure that they are carried out in accordance with the our Client's Group Operating Procedures and Global Lifting Procedures.
*Ad hoc duties as required in line with applicable training/competency assessments undertaken.
Minimum Qualifications
LGV Class 2 Licence for mobile crane drivers
CPCS Competent Person card
NPORS Certificate.
Reach stacker
Heavy forklift
IOSH Working Safely
Forklift license
Banksman/Slinger training (OPITO/NPORS/CPCS or equivalent)
Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
Accustomed to working effectively in a fast paced environment, flexible and can adapt to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written with ability to maintain positive work relationships.
