Job Title: Motor Vehicle Technician



Location: Portsmouth PO3 5FH



Salary: Between £27,038 to £47,097 + Uncapped Bonus Scheme  



Working Hours:Hours 42.5 hrs Monday to Friday with Saturday overtime on rota basis





Our Client are an automotive retailer representing prestigious luxury car Brands throughout the South of the UK who are currently recruiting an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician for their Portsmouth branch.

 Key Responsibilities:





  • Using diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach, ensure vehicle faults are diagnosed and rectified.  Meet with customers to identify and clearly understand problems as and when required.







  • Ensure full understanding of latest technology introduced on the vehicle range and how to diagnose and repair faults on them.







  • Carry out diagnosis, repairs and servicing to the highest standards and to the appropriate specification.







  • Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.







  • Liaise and seek advice from colleagues and supervisors in situations that are over and above work specified.







  • Check level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment and road-testing vehicles after work has been carried out.  Liaise with Service Advisor.







  • Complete relevant service documentation (job sheets, PDI’s, service reports) in line with brand standards, warranty and site requirements.







  • Complete vehicle health checks and CitNOW video in a timely manner (or equivalent)







  • Ensure that workshop housekeeping standards are always maintained including the use of special and personal tools.







Requirements:





  • The knowledge to use modern diagnostic equipment







  • The capability of working to the highest quality standards







  • Great communication skills







  • Maintain high standards of house-keeping







  • Prior experience of working to efficiency targets







  • A full UK driving license







  • Experience within a main automotive dealer preferable, but not essential







  • VOSA approved MOT tester an advantage but not essential







  • Must hold Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair NVQ or equivalent
