Mortgage Underwriter – 18 month FTC

Our client is a customer centric, mortgage and savings provider based in Nottinghamshire. They are seeking an experienced underwriter to join their dedicated mortgage team on an 18 month fixed term contract. They offer a flexible approach to the working week, with ideally 2 days at their head office and the remainder working remotely (however, they can be open to further flexibility).
As their Mortgage Underwriter, you will be managing a pipeline of mortgage applications, progressing from application stage to offer.
Duties of the Mortgage Underwriter will include:
* To assess and approve applications for mortgages, further advances and transfers of equity in accordance with your mandate across a mix of different lending type. Documenting clear rationale behind decision making.
* To interact with mortgage intermediaries, customers and third parties in relation to the assessment of a mortgage applications.
* To produce mortgage offers and associated supporting documentation.
* To review and update underwriting procedures ensuring they comply with current working practices.
* To provide support to Intermediary Support and Direct Sales with the assessment of decision in principles.
This is an initial 18 month fixed term contract, however, there could be potentially for this role to be extended to a two year FTC.
The successful individual will possess:
* Experience in residential mortgage underwriting.
* Previous mandate holder.
* CeMap qualified would be desirable
