Salary: £30,000 - £46,525 per annum

About the Role:
GSL Education are seeking to appoint an inspirational Modern Foreign Languages Teacher to join a reputable school in York starting in September 2024. This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about teaching French and German.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in French and German in line with the national curriculum.
Teach both French and German at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and at least one of these subjects, preferably both, to GCSE level.
Foster the learning and progress of pupils by being an effective teacher of both the subject and the students.
Ensure quality preparation, resourcing, and planning for lessons to maximise student engagement and understanding.
Use subject expertise, teaching skill, and proactive classroom management to maintain high standards and create a conducive learning environment.
Implement effective marking and assessment strategies to provide feedback and support student development.
Set high expectations and maintain positive personal relationships with students to encourage their personal skills, abilities, understanding, learning, and progress.
Participate in departmental meetings, parent conferences, and school training events.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Proven experience in teaching French and German at secondary level.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Hold a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Potential for Leadership:
There is also the potential for a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) for the right candidate, to lead the subject area.
