Our work has a real impact on people’s lives, so we strive to do it well, with integrity and their future in mind.We have a new position for a Model Validation Actuary to support our Head of Model Validation in providing risk oversight in the areas of model and end-user computing (EUC) risks. This role will involve liaising with actuarial model owners to support implementation of the PPF’s model risk policy including contributing to the development and maintenance of this. This will include considering the requirements of Actuarial Standards, Financial Service industry best practice and government modelling reviews where appropriate. Additionally, this position will contribute to the development, implementation, and the regular independent validation of the PPF’s business critical models, such as Long-Term Risk Model and the Actuarial Valuation models.Our ideal applicant will be a qualified Actuary with experience of working with actuarial models, which could have been gained within a wide range of actuarial environments. This position requires excellent analytical skills, with the ability to apply them to specific business situations. Additionally, the successful application will have strong communication skills, where they have the ability to present complex concepts to an audience of varying technical knowledge, as well as being able to understand and build stakeholder relationships.This role is suitable for a wide range of flexible working patterns, and we encourage applicants who might be seeking these arrangements to apply.
