Belmont Recruitment are recruiting for a Migrant / Refugee Advisor to work with Oxfordshire County Council. The purpose of the job is to work as a central part of the Migrant Education team where you will be responsible for supporting migrants with their Early Years childcare needs.� This will involve informing families of childcare provision in the UK, including their statutory rights, assisting with applications for childcare places and any associated needs in connection with this, for eg. transport to the childcare provision. You will work specifically with Ukrainian, Afghan and Hong Kong BN(O) families who have recently settled in Oxfordshire.



Overview:




  • Support migrant families in securing childcare places and subsequent transport requirements across Oxfordshire, in order to allow migrants to access employment opportunities

  • Liaise with Early Years staff in supporting guests placing their young child/children in appropriate provision which may be near their place of residence or employment

  • Support migrants in accessing on-line support and guidance for Early Years

  • Support migrants in accessing Early Years enrichment provision for both children and families

  • Help migrants in understanding public transport routes and provision, supporting them in matching their location to appropriate public transport, ticket options and timings.

  • Liaise with transport officers in Oxfordshire County and District Councils as well as dealing directly with transport providers e.g. bus and train companies, in order to ensure efficient and effective transportation, including, for example, the application for and use of bus passes.

  • Attend and participate in meetings as required to support the needs of the service.

  • Build effective liaisons with colleagues, volunteers and external groups in order to provide accurate information and a breadth of Early Years provision for migrant families.

  • Ensure all Health and Safety and other compliance is adhered to.

  • Assist with new arrival registrations in relation to Early Years support.

  • Participate in such tasks relating to the responsibilities and duties described above and any other duties which may reasonably be assigned from time to time by the Service Lead.



Location: Oxford



Hourly rate is negotiable depending on experience.
