Midday Cover Supervisor

Term Time Teachers are currently working with an amazing SEN School within the Crowborough area. They are seeking a temporary Midday Supervisor.

The Midday Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of students during lunch breaks. This individual will work closely with the SEN team to provide a structured and nurturing environment, facilitating both social interaction and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise students during lunchtime, both in the dining hall and playground.

Assist students with eating and encourage good table manners and hygiene.

Support students with physical or learning disabilities in a respectful and understanding manner.

Manage and resolve conflicts or behavioural issues in a calm and positive way.

Encourage inclusive play and social interaction among students.

Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to meet the individual needs of each student.

Maintain accurate records of incidents and report any concerns to the appropriate staff member.

Carry out personal care ie, toileting, hand washing, feeding and changing.

Person Specification:

Experience working with children, preferably in a SEN environment.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Basic first aid knowledge is desirable.

A positive and proactive attitude.
