Mid Market Underwriter

Due to growth and several internal promotions, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and career driven trading underwriter to join one of our London based commercial underwriting teams. This is a great job for someone that is a multiclass underwriter (Property & Liability) who can operate within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably and grow a book of commercial Mid–Market business.You will be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business within Aviva!Aviva has introduced “smart-working”, and the person in this role can be based anywhere in the UK, as long as they are comfortable regularly travelling to our London offices.A bit about the job:The job requires you to work collaboratively within one of our London underwriting team to support both the lead trading underwriter and underwriting leader in delivering financials. The successful applicants will partner with brokers and customers to truly understand their wants and needs, using data insight to ensure we provide whole customer solutions. In turn you will need great organisation and time management skills including the ability to manage own diary successfully in a fast paced environment.Skills and experience we’re looking for:Previous property and liability underwriting experienceThe ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customersWork collaboratively within a large complex organisationGood knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislationStrong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business casesWhat you’ll get for this role:Our purpose - with you today, for a better tomorrow – is a promise we make to our colleagues too.
