Mid-Market Senior UnderwriterCompetitive SalaryAviva is currently seeking a Commercial Mid-Market Senior Underwriter specialising in Property & Casualty to join our Existing Business London International Broker Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a growing team, dealing with International Brokers in the London market. The role is predominantly based in London, with this being one of our key trading locations, and you will benefit from Aviva’s smart working arrangements, with a mix of home and office working.As a Senior Underwriter you’ll provide an outstanding service to our customers and brokers. You’ll drive Existing business and professional relationships, directly contributing to the underwriting profit and loss, trading, and service delivery goals. In addition to this, you’ll also be responsible for mentoring and coaching colleagues within the team and creating tailor made solutions for our customers. This role could be ideal for you, if you’re a dynamic trader with leaderships skills, a strong industry led background and track record of delivering market leading customer outcomes.A bit about the job:Develop, build, and strengthen positive relationships with aligned customers/brokers, providing technical support and dealing with all queriesInfluence key contacts in the marketplace through business development and customer engagementUnderstand what matters to customers and brokers to provide the right solution and deliver the best outcomes that reflect the Aviva underwriting strategy and valuesApply the core principles of insurance to everyday situations e.g., advising on the scope of policy cover, risk management strategy, identifying potential claims and arranging insurance that will meet customer needsActs as the technical authority within the team, responsible for underwriting profitable business whilst operating within agreed guidelines and authority levelsSkills and experience we’re looking for:Good underwriting knowledge in property and casualty with proven track record of winning New Business. Other lines of business such as real estate, speciality lines and motor are desirable but not essentialExperience with applying underwriting knowledge to improve processes and proceduresExperience with managing your own underwriting caseload within a regulatory environmentExcellent business development and customer
engagement/relationship
