Job overviewWe are looking for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner with a UK Professional Registration to join our fast-growing fast-paced Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in North East Essex.MHST’s are a new service designed to support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties within education settings. We are a multidisciplinary team made up of Children and Young People’s Mental Health Practitioners and Education Mental Health Practitioners.MHSTs aims to:Support children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems through evidence-based interventionsSupport schools in developing their whole school approach to mental healthProvide timely advice to school staff and to liaise with other services to help children and young people get the right help and stay in education.Main duties of the jobThe applicant will work in partnership with schools, children, young people, and families in the development of plans for the intervention and agreed outcomes.To support the Locality Clinical Lead with the formulation and treatment and management plans for schools, parents, children, and young people using a range of specialist psychological interventions appropriate to the service, individual and group.To effectively manage a caseload of CYP with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.Completion of thorough assessments, risk assessments, care planning and reviews. The applicant mustensure that there is accurate documentation, and that Routine Outcome Measures are completed.Appropriately raise safeguarding concerns where identified and to support colleagues with this process.Provide caseload management and supervision to Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners, Education Mental Health Practitioner's and Senior Mental Health Practitioner's.To support in the delivery of evidence-based CBT.To work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team within your locality but also with other MHSTs within EssexThe applicant should be able to work as part of a team and autonomously.Further training will be expected for any successful applicant who does not hold a supervisor qualification.Working for our organisationWe continue to encourage all staff to ensure that they have been double vaccinated and received their booster. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesThe post-holder will be a graduate qualified health care professional and ideally have formal CBT training for example:Qualified CBT TherapistImproving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT)Or will have substantial Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) clinical experience which includes delivery of CBT interventions and fully registered with the appropriate professional or regulatory body (e.g. HCPC, NMC, BABCP etc…).The role of Senior Clinician and Supervisor will cover the Nortj-East Essex area (Colchester and Tendring), and we currently have vacancies for 2 WTE.Please see person specification and job description for full details and responsibilities required for this role.BaseThis post is largely agile working, ability to work independently within educational settings or at NELFT sites is important. Some travel around the county is also expected. A nominal base of 900 The Crescent, Colchester is given.Person specificationQualificationsSuccessful completion of a graduate training (e.g. nursing, social work, occupational therapy) and eligible for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body NMC, HCPC, BABCP AFT, ACPFurther professional knowledge will have been gained through accredited courses workshops, study and in house training programmes (e.g. CYP- IAPT training)Completion of EMHP or IAPT Supervisory CourseExperienceAt least 2 years experience of working with evidence based approaches to low mood, anxiety and behaviour problems with children and young peopleExperience of undertaking delegated leadership tasks and managing trainee staff effectivelyExperience working with or in educational settingsKnowledgeHigh level knowledge of the theory and practice of psychological interventions including low -intensity CBT interventions.Knowledge of the relevant clinical research literature and ability to apply it to field of parent support/child mental health/staff wellbeingKnowledge of SystmoneSkillsAbility to form excellent working relationships with colleagues and work flexibly with others in multidisciplinary and multi-agency settingsEffectively manage a clinical caseload, complete outcomes measure routinely, update clinical records in line with team, service and Trust requirementsOtherTo be able to travel efficiently throughout the areaConfident speaking with a range of audiences in different settings including education settingsWe believe in bringing your authentic and best self to work, in order to deliver the best care to our patients.
