Mental Health Practitioner

This is a brilliant opportunity for a dedicated healthcare professional to promote and improve the mental health and well-being of Children, Young People and those who care for them. Working for MFT CAMHS, you'll work with Children and Young People aged up to 18 years and who present with a wide range of complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. You'll be supported to manage a defined caseload and have the responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children and young people. We'll rely on you to ensure there is effective and sensitive communication between, the Children and Young People in your care, those who care for them, the health professionals you work with and other relevant agencies. MFT CAMHS sits within Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) and is comprised of 44 separate services, including 5 Core CAMHS services (North, South, Salford, Central & Trafford), Looked After Children/Adoption services, Children with Disabilities Service and Manchester Eating Disorders Service, along with Inpatient Services based at Galaxy House. With current NMC, HCPC or SWE registration alongside a recognised qualification, you'll have a working knowledge of CAMHS and/or adult mental health and have an understanding of assessing complex mental health needs & levels of risk, including safeguarding and self-harm Using your experience of working with vulnerable people and their carers who present with complex mental health needs and are often a risk to themselves or others, you'll undertake assessments and formulate plans for intervention, in collaboration with the Child, Young Person and those who care for them. Dedicated to providing an environment that encourages patient-centred involvement, you'll promote good working relationships as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team, making sure care is coordinated with the internal and external departments you work with, with the ultimate aim of providing the best patient journey possible. Using your knowledge of evidence-based practice, you'll offer therapeutic solutions in line with the National Institute for Health & Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.
