Medical Communications Writer APPLICANTS MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK NOW AND IN THE FUTURE!Main Responsibilities: Research and write a variety of communications materials for clinical trial patient recruitment and retention for different target audiences. Work across multi-functional teams including the writing team, the broader content department and other IQVIA divisions.Essential Functions·Ability to translate clinical trial protocols and scientific information into terms that a patient audience can understand. Apply health literacy best practices to all materials. Understand how writing for patients differs from technical scientific writing.·Display technical accuracy, attention to detail, and correct interpretation of source documents.·Creatively tailor materials for pediatric and adult audiences.·Research and develop written materials, such as newsletter content.·Incorporate internal and client feedback using a scientifically accurate and balanced approach. Collaborate with senior and lead writers to resolve any conflicts in a professional and compliant manner. · Communicate and collaborate with internal colleagues, clients, and other key stakeholders to obtain comprehensive project briefs and responses to questions and feedback on materials.· Actively participate in internal and external stakeholder meetings. Respond effectively to questions relating to allocated areas of responsibility.· Track assigned projects and give regular status updates to task leaders. Independently manage workload, taking ownership for issues and identifying possible solutions. · Understand and adhere to budgets and timelines, working with senior team members.·Keep current on all company trainings and follow all applicable company standard operating procedures (SOPs).Skills· Handle work across multiple clinical research studies at one time often on tight timelines.· Self-directed with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively while adhering to deadlines.· Communicate effectively in a team environment.·Work effectively both independently and with teams, building strong collaborative relationships with the content team and cross-functional teams. ·Generate grammatically correct, consistent, scientifically accurate copy. ·Good research skills and ability to interpret scientific and clinical data to make the information understandable to patient/lay audiences.Qualifications·Bachelor's degree in a scientific or medical subject or public health, or communications/marketing or journalism preferred. ·Required minimum of 1 year of relevant writing or related experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Public relations agency, medical communications agency, patient advocacy group, or similar experience preferred.·Strong, versatile medical writing skills with specific experience with writing for patients.·Experience with interpreting medical/scientific research and terminology for patients. ·Strong computer skills, including MS office suite of Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
