Head of HR - hybrid working
Our client, a mid-sized ambitious Law firm in the City, is seeking a strategic and operational Head of HR to develop the existing HR offering and support with all aspects of HR for the Firm. This is a senior leadership role, leading & supporting one direct HR report and providing innovative & critical people initiatives to help expand the business. During this exciting period of growth, the role will see you centred at the heart of the people and involved in a variety of HR projects and business plans as the organisation drives forward.
Working closely with the CEO, this role has overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the people strategy for the firm, ensuring the employee value proposition makes the firm a truly great place to work. The successful candidate will have a breadth of experience across disciplines including designing and delivering training programmes, senior level succession planning; designing and implementing people strategies, solid employee relations experience at Partner level and the implementation and delivery of change management initiatives.
Working with the CEO, to be responsible for the overall HR and people development strategy
Prepare and manage the budget for the HR/Development function.
Participate in management and partners’ meetings, as required.
Provide people management coaching to Fee Earners, both as part of a structured plan of people development and on an ad hoc basis as required.
Oversee the progress of ongoing recruitment activity (from junior business support to lateral hire Partner), developing appropriate networks with recruiters;
Participate directly in selection interviews as required for senior level appointments;
Manage and provide guidance to the annual promotions process;
Assist in the continual development of the compensation and benefits strategy, providing guidance and direction as required;
Oversee and manage the ongoing trainee recruitment and development activities, developing these as required;
Provide direction and guidance to the HR Officer in the development of new sourcing and selection initiatives, and the continuous improvement of current processes;
Significant previous generalist HR experience, including managing staff;
Previous experience of working in a Legal Firm
Commercially astute with a sound understanding of both the strategic and operational application of HR practice;
