You would work closely with the Head of Media and Communications and the wider Media and Communications team to meet targets and deliver campaigns. If you feel you meet the qualifications and identify with our core values please reach out. Job Type: Full-Time, PermanentSalary: £28,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)Working Time: Mon-Fri, 09:30 to 17:30; flexible, hybrid and remote working options availableLocation: East London, UKResponsibilities:Collaborate With Communications Team: Assist in ensuring a unified, proactive strategy across all communication and engagement efforts, including materials, campaigns, initiatives, and publications where relevant.Strategy Execution: Contribute to the execution of diverse communication and engagement tasks by participating in team efforts when required. This includes aiding in the implementation of comprehensive communication campaigns and events across Unitas. Media Placement Management: Oversee the end-to-end process of sending pitches and op-ed’s, ensuring timely and effective delivery to media outlets and constant communication with wider team.Media Database Management: Take charge of manually updating our media database using tools like Meltwater and Cision, ensuring accurate and up-to-date contact and outlet information.Regular Reporting: Providing daily reporting on the status of various media priorities to the Head of Communications and the wider Comms team; this includes tracking all ‘media hits.’Email Correspondence: Efficiently handle email responses from media contacts and outlets, facilitating clear and productive communication.Supportive Research: Assist in conducting thorough research to support pitches, content creation, and strategy development.Weekly Newsletter Creation: Craft a weekly newsletter which forecasts top stories, providing analysis on how these could be leveraged for client strategies, and connecting the dots between current events and client interests.Media Monitoring: Keep a vigilant eye on media outlets and calendars for coverage relevant to our clients and industry trends, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve.Forward Planning and Media Research: Engage in forward planning and in-depth media research to anticipate media opportunities and challenges.Manage Media Contacts: Regularly update media contacts through networking and leveraging systems like Cision or Meltwater, maintaining a robust network of media relationships.Stakeholder Tracking: Maintain meticulous records of stakeholder communications and interactions, ensuring we stay aligned with client and media needs.Content Creation: Writing press releases, or other materials (like ‘client blurbs’) to assist the media team on content creation and keeping clients up to date on progress. Manage Email Pitching System:
Daily management of company email pitching system which includes Mail Merge and Gmass (prior knowledge of these systems is not necessary but would be a bonus)Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree.Prior experience in a communications/media/journalism/public relations role.Good research skills; the ability to collate and summarize dense information in a shareable way.Good administrative skills; the ability to stay organized and routinely update spreadsheets, shared documents, or systems like Asana.Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create engaging content for a variety of audiences.Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, with a solutions-oriented approach to challenges.A keen interest in current affairs, with a special focus on issues bridging the Global South and North.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships in the media industry.Knowledge of Asana, Gmass, Meltwater, Mail Merge, SEO and other marketing strategies is a bonus. Knowledge of the media landscape, existing relations with media contacts would be a bonus. What We Offer:A career that you define.Yes, we offer all the basic benefits - including competitive salary, generous pensions and more – but we know you expect all that.What you might expect is a job where everyone is encouraged to play a part towards our sustainability goals.
