Mechanical Workshop Fitter - Service/ Overhaul

Due to company growth and increase in workload we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Workshop Fitter to join a leading business based near Brighouse/ Huddersfield. This role provides the opportunity to work for a industry leading business on a range of rotating equipment including Centrifugal Pumps, Valves and Turbines.

The successful candidate MUST have demonstrable experience working in a similar role overhauling rotating equipment in a workshop environment - Experience with Pumps/ Valves/ Motors/ Turbines will be considered.

Candidates must also be time served in a Mechanical discipline.

Hours - Monday – Thursday 7AM – 4.30PM/ Friday 7AM – 12PM  - 

OT is available at premium rates 

Role Description 

• Strip down and report condition of rotating equipment prior to repair 


• Build of new and overhaul of in service pumps - mainly centrifugal.


• Advise and recommend corrective actions.


• Working closely with department Team leaders and Supervisors to ensure all work is carried out in a timely manner and to the required quality standard.

Skills / Qualifications

• Candidates will ideally be time served in a Mechanical Discipline


• Demonstrable experience in overhaul of Rotating Equipment – Pumps/Valves /Turbines/ Motors


• Ability to accurately read, review and interpret manufacturing designs, drawing and schematics


• Confident in reading engineering drawings


• IT Literate - Tablets are used on site for tracking work
