Mechanical Technician- Mechanical Workshop

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a full time Mechanical Technician to join the Mechanical team. The Mechanical Technician will report to the Mechanical, Seat and Cargo Bay Team Leader and the primary purpose of the job will be the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, part replacement and re-assembly of aircraft components such as windows, sliding tables, drain masts, Engine mounts etc. in order to reduce costs and add value to the customers.

MAIN JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspection and diagnosis of mechanical components, repairs, and parts replacement requirements.
  • Disassembly and cleaning of Mechanical Aircraft components.
  • Repair and parts replacement of Mechanical Aircraft components.
  • Reassembly of aircraft Mechanical Aircraft components to required standards and timeframe.
  • Work in accordance with technical publications.
  • Correlate all work carried out in accordance with part 145 requirements.
  • Adheres to all Company standard operating procedures.
  • Adheres to all health and safety procedures.
  • Meets workshop quality and housekeeping standards.
  • Ensures all activity and works delivered meets the Company quality standards.
  • Ensures all administration and systems inputs meets agreed standards.

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Ideally, the successful candidate will be an experienced Mechanical Technician, ideally with specific experience in trimming and upholstery in aviation or motor manufacturing. You will also have an understanding of technical publications and knowledge of Commercial Aerospace working practices. A recognised engineering qualification such as BTEC, BNC, ONC or HNC/HND is desirable but not essential. IT literate with the ability to use Word and Excel and a willingness to learn an industry software package (Aerotrac). The individual will be a team player, willing to learn, disciplined, with an eye for detail and a self-starter.
