Working Pattern:
Double days, Monday - Friday (rotating AM and PM shifts)
Working Hours:
37.75 hours per week - double days.
Shift allowance: £1.14 per hour.
Double days schedule:
AM Shift: Monday - Thursday, 6 am - 2:15 pm; Friday, 6 am - 1:15 pm.
PM Shift: Monday - Thursday, 2 pm - 10:15 pm; Friday, 2 pm - 9:15 pm.
Latham & Bond HR is currently supporting our client, a leading automotive manufacturer, in their search for a mechanical Maintenance Engineer. In this role, you will not only play a key role in the foundry maintenance department, responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults, and repairing die-casting machines but also have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills. You will provide maintenance services to production departments, offices, and buildings, carry out some installation work, and perform routine maintenance repairs to support production demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide maintenance duties to factory machinery, offices, and buildings.
Participate in the Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) program.
Perform installation work and routine maintenance repairs.
Support production supervision by working on equipment as required.
Recover production machinery and complete maintenance tickets upon completion.
Test malfunctioning machinery and diagnose issues with the Maintenance Manager and toolmaker.
Diagnose and replace faulty electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
Suggest changes to improve the efficiency of the work team.
Analyse and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving them.
Inspect and test machinery and equipment.
Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment, including robots or programmable controllers.
Maintain 5S standards.
Conduct daily shift checks.
Qualifications / Experience:
Proven working history in a similar environment (5 years).
Engineering or mechanical qualifications.
Welding and fabrication skills.
PLC programming knowledge (desirable).
Forklift licence (desirable).
Ability to deploy and maintain the Manufacturing Quality Operating System within the production environment to establish conformance to customer specifications and support production on all quality-related issues.
