Mechanical Fitter

Central Recruitment are working with an Engineering company based in the Bamber Bridge area of Preston, recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter.

Working alongside the Workshop Manager the ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Mechanical Fitting role.

Duties will include:

• Reading designs from engineers drawings


• Working with extruders


• Good working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulic systems


• Fitting tasks using hand tools including spanners, bolts and drills


• Ability to fault find on machines


• Working with different types of metal


• Inspecting and testing products


• Assemble manufactured components


• Experience welding and fabricating


• Measuring and calculating dimensions


• Liaise with other departments regarding quality issues and production timelines


• Ability to prepare metal surfaces, use appropriate welding techniques


• Cutting and joining metal components with accuracy


• Electrical knowledge advantageous


• Willing to travel and fit on site when required


• Driving licence and access to a car

Working hours:

Days Monday -Thursday 8am - 4pm Friday 8am - 3pm

Pay between �13.00 - �15.50 per hour

This is a full time permanent position for the right candidate. Anyone with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Fitting, Mechanical Assembly would have the right skills for this position
