We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for one of our prestigious Marine clients.

  • Rate: �25/h

  • Hours: 40 plus per week

  • Weekly payment via LTD



A marine mechanical engineer is a professional who specializes in the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of mechanical systems and machinery used in marine environments. Their expertise lies in developing and overseeing the mechanical systems found on various marine vessels, such as ships, boats, submarines, offshore platforms, and other watercraft.



The responsibilities of a marine mechanical engineer may include:





  1. Designing and developing propulsion systems: Marine mechanical engineers are involved in the design and optimization of propulsion systems, including engines, propellers, and transmission systems, to ensure efficient and reliable operation of marine vessels.




  2. Structural design and analysis: They are responsible for designing and analyzing the structural integrity of various mechanical components and systems onboard marine vessels, ensuring they can withstand the harsh conditions of the marine environment.




  3. HVAC and refrigeration systems: Marine mechanical engineers design and oversee the installation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration systems on ships to provide comfortable and safe conditions for crew members and passengers.




  4. Fluid systems: They design and manage fluid systems, including piping, pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems, to ensure the proper distribution and control of fluids such as water, fuel, and lubricants onboard marine vessels.




  5. Safety and regulatory compliance: Marine mechanical engineers ensure that all mechanical systems onboard vessels comply with relevant safety regulations and standards established by maritime regulatory bodies, such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and classification societies.




  6. Maintenance and troubleshooting: They are responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues and failures that occur during the operation of marine vessels, as well as planning and overseeing routine maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and longevity of mechanical systems.
