My client offers a truly unique opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer/Manager to take responsibility for the Mechanical Engineering department in a heavy industrial environment. The business is a true market leader in their field.

This opportunity offers great security and stability in the current economic climate. The purpose of the role is to manage the engineering function and supporting services effectively to ensure legal compliance and provide full support to the business.

Role Description

• Ensure maintenance activities are caried out in a safe manner
• Monitor all equipment performance and identify any potential issues or areas for improvement
• Work with key stakeholders such as Maintenance Planning, Electrical Engineering, Production on daily issues, provision of labour, breakdowns etc
• Prioritise and schedule all equipment maintenance activities
• Control maintenance and spares costs in line with budget
• Spot continuous improvement opportunities to minimise maintenance activity
• Lead full maintenance team, manage performance, motivate and develop the team
• Work closely with the Site Engineering Manager

Skills and Qualifications

• Qualified in HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineer
• Detailed knowledge of Mechanical equipment from a heavy industrial environment
• Maintenance Planning experience
• Track record of developing teams
• Strong understanding of continuous improvement
