Mechanical Engineer

Astute's team is exclusively partnering with a leader in state of the art materials recycling to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to join their brand new facility in Coventry.
The strategically important Mechanical Engineer role comes with a salary of �40,000- �50,000 dependant on experience.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Technical Shift Manager you will:

• Support with the daily maintenance tasks across the recycling process plant, including working to planned preventative maintenance schedules and reacting effectively to breakdowns when needed.
• Mechanical fault finding and root cause analysis on the heavy machinery.
• Support with the overall equipment efficiency, ensuring down time is minimised and the plant runs at optimum performance.
• Be able to deliver all work set to the operational expectations and budgetary requirements.
• Log accurate maintenance records via the CMMS.
• Working as part of a shift pattern
• Other duties as required.

This role is working on a rotating shift pattern including earlies, lates and night shifts. Please only apply if this is suitable.
Professional qualifications & Personal Skills
We are looking for someone with the following:

• Previous experience working in a mechanical maintenance role within the waste management / recycling industry, or a similar heavy process site.
• A good understanding of mechanical fault finding and the initiative to solve problems effectively.
• A formal mechanical engineering qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Experience using CMMS systems and LEAN principles.
• A flexible approach to work, being able to adapt to the needs of the site.
• Excellent communication and team working skills is essential.

• Basic salary of �40,000 - �50,000 DOE + overtime
