Mechanical Engineer (Additive Manufacturing)

Our clientBAE Systems, a leading company in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a skilled and experienced Principal Engineer - Materials Technology (Additive Manufacturing) to join their team. This is a contract position for a duration of 12 months, based in Barrow, UK.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development and implementation of materials technology strategies for additive manufacturing projects.
Conduct research and analysis to identify and evaluate new materials for additive manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive advancements in additive manufacturing techniques and processes.
Design and oversee qualification and validation programs for new materials and additive manufacturing capabilities.
Provide technical expertise and guidance on materials selection, testing, and performance evaluation.
Performing a design, development and qualification exercise for various parts to ensure parts are fit for purpose.

Job Requirements:

Strong knowledge of material science and engineering principles.
Expertise in selecting and characterizing materials for additive manufacturing applications.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
