Heritage PS Talent Solutions are working on behalf of our client.

We are thrilled to be working in partnership with our well-established client within Manufacturing and Engineering industry to recruit for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their successful team on a full time, permanent basis in Prestwick.


Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, this role would be suitable for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer, or a Mechanical Design Engineer or Draughtsman with up to 5 years experience.

Main duties of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Utilise Mechanical 2D/3D CAD software to design products within designated timelines.
  • Generate precise engineering drawings ensuring correct application of tolerance, limits, and fit, accompanied by necessary BOMs, Production Drawings, and work instructions.
  • Offer assistance and support to the production department during the progression of Switchgear build.
  • Adhere to all Company policies, procedures, including health and safety regulations.
  • Embrace and advocate the Company's values and principles.
  • Fulfill other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Proficiency in IT systems such as Microsoft Office and 2D/3D CAD/Inventor.
  • Essential experience in LV/MV Switchgear.
  • Thorough understanding of design principles and Industry standards.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in design for manufacturing.
  • Experience in crafting customised equipment systems using CAD/Inventor or similar software.
  • Meticulous attention to detail coupled with strong organisational abilities.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for Engineering and personal growth.
  • Familiarity with working in a project-oriented setting.
