Mechanical Contracts Manager is required in an established M&E company based in Nottingham.Duties:Operate as a design co-ordinator leading/managing a team of multi-disciplinary engineers working closely with Project Managers and discipline Team Leaders;Preparation of detailed design reports/specifications/component datasheets;Prepare engineering calculations through the approval of the engineering reports and the calculations of drawings;Identifying issues such as plant layout and component specifications;Conferring with other engineering disciplines, clients, and contractors;Lead and attend design coordination meetings (internally and externally;Procurement/construction support;Project documentation control;Work closely with and provide professional advice on Mechanical Engineering matters to internal and external clients;Undertake own continuing professional development; andOperate following the corporate health and safety, environment, and quality standards.The Candidate must/must have:At least five years' experience in a mechanical project management &/or mechanical estimating &/or mechanical designExperience building strong customer and consultant relationshipsExcellent communication skillsExcellent numeracy skillsFlexibility to travel between customer and consultant sitesHonesty and integrityExcellent time management and organisational skillsAbility to work to a deadlineAn awareness of contract law (including standard form contracts used by the building industry, e.g. JCT/NEC3)An awareness of "construction contracts" and the Construction Act 1996Awareness and knowledge of H&S / CDM Regulations & requirements Desirable Qualifications:Working knowledge of SEC Cypher estimating package or similarWorking knowledge of AutoCADWorking knowledge of Hevacomp design software Skills/Abilities:Ambitious and enthusiasticStrong work ethicTeam playerExcellent Organisational skillsHonesty and integrityInitiative / resourcefulnessProfessionalism and punctualityProactiveOther Job Details:Start as soon as possibleWorking hours are Mon - Thu 8-5; Fri 8-4Excellent car package, pension, death in service insurance, discretionary biannual bonus, 25 paid holidays plus bank holidaysValue of packages: £50,000 - £2,000,000.00Job locations: Nationwide Please apply with your most up to date CV and you will be contacted.
