The Materials Manager will be responsible for efficiently coordinating the inbound and outbound movement of materials and associated functions such as planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials based on customer needs, inventory targets and production schedules.
Duties
Collaborate with other Managers and team members to determine supply needs for internal and external customers
Coordinate and supervise the Planning and Purchasing functions to ensure efficient and timely arrival of supplies and materials according to specification
Management and control of Stores Dept receiving and warehouse procedures, to ensure high performance of supplies distribution in the organization and to meet customer demands
Manage the development of supplier performance to meet the business needs including purchasing schedule requirements, cost reduction opportunities and new sourcing opportunities

Resolve material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions while identifying and creating strategic solutions to improve material flow at multiple levels
Develop and execute inventory cycle count process to assure high inventory accuracies
Ensure prompt and accurate updating of computer systems
Liaise and coordinate with logistics to develop efficient processes and visibility from order receipt for Planning and Purchasing functions
Coordinate functions for outbound processes to ensure prompt delivery of goods in accordance with key stakeholders and demand schedule
Education DegreeVocational/TechnicalRequired Experience
Experience in an Engineering environment, working as a Materials Manager with excellent communication and leadership skills - 3 years
In Depth knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systems, with proven experience in this area - 3 years
Hands on experience with forecasting and procurement tools, collating and developing business KPIs, and ability to make cost savings through Continuous Improvement - 3 years
