About this opportunityThis role sits within the Marketing Strategy & Planning team, in the Consumer Lending Engagement Squad, within our Chief Customer Office (CCO).Working with our Consumer and B2B Transport brands, we're looking for a Marketing Planning Manager to lead and facilitate communications planning processes within the team, as well acting as a first point of contact for the Transport business into Marketing. Our Transport Business is redefining itself, with ambitious growth targets and a significant change programme. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a broad range of brands and customer groups, scoping and agreeing marketing activity right through the conversion funnel. We would like someone with proven experience of strategic marketing planning and campaign development, who is comfortable dealing with ambiguity and is energised by a fast paced environment. About our team:The Strategy & Planning team is a centre of excellence that brings together significant resources to create a deep focus on our audiences, customer anchored strategy and the capabilities required to implement it.We help marketing delivery teams support the lending needs of our customers, helping them to feel confident about borrowing well.We articulate business problems and customer opportunities in ways that gain commitment and create traction amongst stakeholders,We ensure our campaigns meet the needs of our customers, whilst also delivering for the business, and maintain a strong focus on improving the effectiveness of all we do.As a
Marketing Planning Manager, you'll have the following responsibilities:
Work as part of a matrix with the Business Unit, the wider marketing team, and the agency team to develop planning frameworks and articulate customer and branded partner strategy for areas of focusOngoing monitoring of campaign performance and external market factors to continually review and refine plans and drive the best possible results, maximising return on our investmentLeverage new conversion technology / capability as it comes on board, to consistently improve performanceLead planning and prioritisation discussions, to ensure that pending activity is supported by key areas before moving into the delivery phaseAct as the Marketing first point of contact for the business including for their transformation programme to build better customer experiencesEnsure accurate and effective day to day budget management.What you'll need:Experience of developing customer strategy and effective marketing plansExperience of delivering either engagement, conversion / direct response activity in 121 channels – Email, Internet Banking, Direct Mail OR experience of B2B marketing including thought leadership, intermediary engagement or end user communicationsExperience with interpreting customer insights in order to map customer journeys or define customer experience at segment/audience levelProficient in managing budgets and making recommendations based on interpreting performance data to drive cost effective performanceExcellent stakeholder management skills – communication and influencingProject management experience, either leading or supporting would be useful along with an understanding of business commercials and how to interpret themNaturally collaborative and curious with a continuous improvement mind-set!
