Marketing Compliance Specialist (Financial Promotions)

Do you have extensive knowledge of the Financial Services and Markets Act?
Do you specialise in the compliance of marketing materials and financial promotions for an FCA regulated business?
If so, we have a brand new opportunity to join our Commercial Division, where you will set up and establish the way we apply the financial promotions policy to all our marketing material.
As our Marketing Compliance Specialist, you will report to our Director of Brand & Marketing, will be an SME in this field and will have the autonomy to own and manage financial promotion compliance for the department.

About the role
In this role, you will be the voice of compliance and the go-to person in the Brand & Marketing division for advice on financial promotions; you will also have support from and collaborate with our Legal & Compliance teams to ensure that we maintain the highest standards in all of our marketing activities.
This is a brand new position, so there is an opportunity to scope and implement new ways of working.
You will:
Act as first line defence approver of financial promotions including recommending and drafting updates/revisions in line with section 21
Establish best practise, process, procedures and policies.
Identify and monitor regulatory changes
Accountable for monitoring and reporting of the financial promotions compliance monitoring programme for Brand & Marketing
Maintaining training programmes in accordance to risk controls and competency frameworks in relation to financial promotions
Collaborate with the legal and compliance team for projects needing escalation
Horizon scan of forthcoming regulatory initiatives. Keeping up-to-date with any FCA / PRA regulatory requirements relevant to financial promotions in order to provide clear advice to the Brand and Marketing Function and coordinate response and implementation.
What will you bring to the role?
We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Extensive knowledge of the Financial Services and Markets Act with experience of reviewing and approving marketing materials and financial promotions for an FCA regulated business (preferably financial services).
Ability to maintain compliance while offering guidance on options, alternatives, and creative ways to reframe marketing copy and designs
Experience in developing, maintaining, and optimising compliance workflows while balancing speed, efficiency, and regulatory requirements
Experience working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with the appetite to do things differently and embed new ways of working.
An excellent communicator capable of driving strong cross-functional collaboration and effective management of senior stakeholders
Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, with the ability to project manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Proven experience in building relationships with stakeholders across the business with strong influencing and decision-making skills and integrity
Critical thinking skills, using data and other sources of information to prompt ongoing improvements.
