Exciting Opportunity for Marine Industry Electrical Fitters



Are you an experienced Electrical Fitter seeking your next role in the thriving marine industry? Join one of Cornwall's leading marine engineering companies based near Redruth as we embark on exciting projects in the maritime sector.



Role Overview:

As an Electrical Fitter with us, you'll play a key role in the mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, and installation of critical control panels and plant equipment for marine applications.



Position Details:



Full-time permanent role



37.5 hours per week



Competitive salary of �15 - �18 per hour (depending on experience) plus offshore premium and overtime at 1/3 extra hourly rate

Key Responsibilities:




  • Cable identification, termination, and wiring

  • Installation of cable management solutions (cable tray, trunking, conduit)

  • Initial testing, fault finding, and functional testing of new equipment

  • Onsite equipment installation and refurbishment

  • Mechanical assembly of control panels including switchgear and contactors

  • Electrical wiring of control panels and associated marine equipment

  • Point-to-point wiring checks and testing

  • Fault finding and functional testing of equipment



Essential Skills and Requirements:




  • Previous electrical experience in marine or related industries (single, three-phase, and low voltage systems)

  • Proficiency in fault finding and problem-solving on various electrical systems

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

  • Competent in soldering wires and electronic components

  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in MS Office

  • Eligible to work in the UK

  • Valid passport and full UK driving licence



Desired Qualifications and Experience:




  • BS7671 18th edition certification (advantageous)

  • BS2391-52 Initial testing and periodic inspection or equivalent (advantageous)

  • Familiarity with industrial communications and PLCs

  • Offshore and/or marine sector experience preferred
