Location: Gosport
Salary: £34,000 - £38,000
Working Hours: 39 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Overview:
First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International Defence business who are looking to recruit a Marine Engineering Mechanical Trainer on a permanent basis due to growth based at their Gosport depot.
Duties and responsibilities:


  • To train within the Engine Workshop, theoretical and practical technical training on Mechanical engineering techniques, complex systems routines, maintenance, diagnostics and repair techniques to the equipment and systems of RN warships and other Navies vessels in accordance with the Training Plan and procedures.
  • To maintain and update training documentation as directed by DTM and to assist others as requested.
  • To assess trainee course work and provide feedback on performance
  • To be responsible for the duty of care of trainees during the delivery of training.
  • To carry out the level 0 and level 1 training equipment maintenance for which suitable qualifications and experience are held.
  • Ensure Company security, health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.


Qualifications and experience:


  • Consolidated experience (within last 5 years), or directly employed in Marine Mechanical to include skill of hand techniques & engineering principles in the maritime environment.
  • Previous instructional experience & sufficient knowledge to teach / design ME (LET/POET)’s Mechanical engineering techniques, complex systems routines, maintenance, diagnostics and repair techniques, covering the following modules: Engineering Safety, Diesel Engines, Gas Turbines, Transmissions, Fuel Systems, Auxiliaries, Refrigeration and Hydraulics, Vent and Freshwater
  • Production, hand tools & craft skills (ideally within last 5 years).
  • Experience in the development of Marine Mechanical engineering based training courses.
  • Experience (within last 3 years) of CBT/CAI principles, concepts and use.
  • Qualified academically or vocationally to a minimum of HNC in relevant subject matter.
