Description
We are working with an Automotive Manufacturing Business who are looking for a Manufacturing NPI Engineer to join their team, based in Stockport.
Responsibilities
- Takes ownership for Engineering NPI activities.
- Work closely with the NPI coordinator and program managers to manage new products, engineering changes, tooling and supplier resource activities from an NPI perspective.
- Monitor the rollout of ODT & PPAP batches. Measure process effectiveness to critical KPIs.
- Liaise with external suppliers and internal customers - production, supply chain, and quality on all new products being introduced to the business, ensuring compliance to any customer specific requirements.
- Validate proposed new transfer products from a process, tooling and documentation requirement using bespoke DFM methodology.
- Obtain supplier timing plans for tooling and equipment, with support from Manufacturing Engineering.
- Utilise 3D modelling and creative thinking, alongside manufacturing engineering, to produce bespoke tooling, or adapt current tooling and equipment to reduce costs as much as possible for launch.
- APQP support & management of related tasks. Assist with CQE to provide documentation for PPAP or ISIR approval.
- Support PFMEA review and development for NPI & create approval of internal documents.
- Utilise feedback from every NPI run and record relevant metrics to ensure NPI 'First Time Right' mentality.
- Drives continuous improvement using Company Standard Operating System incorporating Six Sigma methodology on all manufacturing methods and processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Works to internal Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures, continually seeking to improve the department's method of work.
- Maintains records, drawings (and other machine or facilities drawings), and documents to provide a record which is archived and accessible to the company, as per IATF16949, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 requirements.
- Responsible for procurement of final assembly equipment and tooling for new processes that comply with UK PUWE Regulations
- Control of assigned Capital - initial proposal, specification, raising budget requests and budget control.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in Automotive and Aerospace industry.
- Previous manufacturing, product engineering or NPI experience.
- Able to work under pressure and deliver results in a complex environment managing goals.
- CI and "Hands on" Mindset
- Ability to lead change management initiatives.
- Computer skills using Microsoft packages.

The Salary and Hours
- �40,000 - �45,000
- Monday to Thursday, 8:00 - 16:30,
- Friday 8:00 - 13:00
