An exciting new vacancy has arisen aligned to the continued growth of our Company for the role of:

MANUFACTURING CONTRACT ENGINEER - ALLOA

Manufacturing Contract Engineer has overall responsibility for the Bays 1 & 2 machine shop production and methodology of in-house machined components alongside the machine shop supervisor. The position supports the Works Manager and Machine Shop Supervisor in achieving full compliance with part manufacture and will focus on maximizing utilisation of resource, skills, and competency of the workforce, implementing lean manufacturing and up-selling opportunities. Will work closely with other functional areas in improving customer satisfaction, profitable growth and lean methodology for the business.

Extensive experience within a rotating machinery repair shop including M/C shop experience

*

Preferably a time served machinist or Degree level candidate from Engineering production background

*

Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques

*

Knowledge of raw materials

*

Knowledge of quality systems and standards

*

Knowledge of process improvement techniques

*

Knowledge of machines and tools

*

Knowledge of engineering and technology principles and practice

Product Knowledge:

Must have extensive knowledge of machining methodology and manufacturing bias

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Reasoning Ability:

Excellent problem-solving capabilities. Self-motivated. Able to work on own initiative and take appropriate decisions. Good people management skills and organizational skills.

Computer Skills:

Good PC skills required, including use of Microsoft excel. CAD/CAM experience is an advantage

Physical Demands:

Must be able to work in a workshop environment that may require standing for periods of time.

Work Environment:

Flexibility to carry out the necessary duties to complete the task.
