Are you looking for the opportunity to work for a leading manufacturer of electro-mechanical products in a key Manufacturing Engineering role?
The company have a global presence and are currently working on a number of next-generation projects which means your role will be varied and often project-focused.
As such, they are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Engineer to undertake a key role supporting New Product Introduction acting as the interface between design and the shop floor for new product development projects.
As Manufacturing Engineer you will also deliver robust production engineering standards and look to support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to grow the lean environment on the shop floor.
As Manufacturing Engineer, key accountabilities will include:
New Product Introduction (NPI) / Design for Manufacture (DFM) - Working as part of the Product Development team, acting as the link between development and the shop floor and ensuring all new products are designed for manufacture.
Supporting with initial prototype builds and identification of any equipment or tooling / fixturing requirements for the build.
Lean / Continuous Improvement – assist with identifying and then implementing improvement tools such as 7 Wastes, Visual Management, single piece flow, 5S or similar
Identifying and look at way standardise work, improving work instructions/ SOP’s and ensuring they reflect current builds.
To succeed in this varied and interesting Project based Production Engineering role you will ideally be apprentice trained / HNC/D + or degree qualified or have a number of years of proven experience in an electro-mechanical assembly or electronic / box build manufacturing environment. Coupled with:
New Product Introduction (NPI) experience
Experience in an assembly manufacturing environment.
Electro-mechanical assembly background preferred
First class communication skills,
An understanding of lean tools such as 5S, 8D, 5 Why’s, Ishikawa diagrams or similar highly advantageous
