Our client, a global leader in aerospace systems, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly and Test) to join their team in Wolverhampton. As a Module Support Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading improvements to current processes in the assembly and test areas. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that products are produced efficiently, safely, and economically. You will have the opportunity to drive continuous improvement activities, focusing on quality improvement, waste elimination, and cost reduction. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting operations, addressing technical issues, and making process changes as needed.

Summary:

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Location: Wolverhampton
  • Pay Rate: �35 - �45.00 per hour - Umbrella
  • Hours: 37 per week

Duties Include:

  • Lead Transformation activities across the Value Stream
  • Work with the Value Stream to redesign the building layout to better utilise the space, increase output, decrease processing times, using industry/CORE principles
  • Create and modify manufacturing process routings
  • Be responsible for managing changes to existing processes as a result of Engineering design changes, engineering release note (ERN)
  • Recommending product design changes to aid manufacture, Engineering change request (ECR)
  • Tool design (simple to moderate tools and fixtures), procurement and validation
  • Modification of manufacturing standard work
  • Maintaining TPM definition documentation (FLM sheets)
  • Support first article inspection activities

Requirements:

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing/assembly and test
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Understanding of manufacturing concepts/processes
  • Degree in Engineering/Manufacturing or Apprentice trained with HNC or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Production Engineering
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
