We have a fantastic opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer with a specialism in Robotic welding! The company is the leading supplier to their industry and with continual growth they are constantly reviewing production methods and investing in new machinery and processes. As such, they now have a new role for a Robotics Engineer to support the investment of an ABB Robot Welder.

You will be the primary Engineer for this machine and will be responsible for it's functions from the commissioning and launch phase through to development and full production runs.

PLEASE NOTE: start date requirement for this role is June 2024 (due to the August delivery schedule)

The Role:

You time will be dedicated to two areas of production; Primarily the function and development of the new Welding Robot, secondary is the support to the laser cutting & CNC department and you're opposite engineer in this team.

As the Welding Engineer you will be responsible for various elements of the process:-

  • The writing of software, programming of the robot and general guidance.
  • Support of new product introduction and the design / drawings and manufacture of equipment tooling / jigs.
  • Machine set-up and ensuring successful production runs.
  • Analysis and correction of problems, Collection of data / reporting and Development / Implementation of preventative measures.
  • Development of procedures and functionality improvement including machine calibration.
  • Support to the maintenance and reliability of the robot.
  • Material is generally galvanised cold-rolled steel.

The Suitable Candidate:-

  • Previous experience with lone support of robotic equipment including both hardware and software (mechanical and electrical systems).
  • In-depth knowledge of Robotic welding preferred, but may consider other applications
  • Proficiency around the design of Tooling
  • Appropriate Engineering qualifications alongside relevant experience (Automation / Electrical / Mechanical).
  • Strong problem solving skills

Benefits:-

  • Salary: �50 - �55k p.a
  • Hours: Mon- Thur 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 4.30pm
