Hours -07:30am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday; Friday 07:30am - 13:45pm

Stafflex are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and specialised subcontracting firm. We are looking for a time served/apprentice trained Manual Machinist. The role will entail manufacturing and machining small batches of variously sized products.

Our client have a friendly and supportive Engineering team, who will be supporting you in the role, helping to manufacture components and tooling for market-leading clients.

Key duties of the Manual Turner will include:

• Setting up various jobs for a manual centre lathe.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and sketches.
• Communicating with supervision on any issues.
• Inspecting manufactured products to ensure quality.
• Adhering to safe working practices at all times.
• Performing all necessary safety checks to ensure integrity and effectiveness of the department.
• To attend and complete any training courses if required.
• Working with one offs, repairs, volume, and batches.
• Working to tight limits in a high precision environment.
• Workshop Housekeeping.

Key Skills and Experience of a Manual Turner:

• Should have a strong background in Turning.
• Previous experience of working with stainless steel.
• Able to work to engineering drawings with minimum supervision.
• Able to complete tasks using own initiative.
• Willingness to comply with all HSQE requirements and procedural controls.
• Strong housekeeping and continuous improvement ethic.
• Strong team member willing to assist wherever required.
