This is a fast growing business with over 1,200 employees and 7000+ customers.The Management Accountant is to take ownership of their accounts and subsequent reporting within the deadlines set, while being supported by the Senior Management Accountant. Ensuring that information provided to the Business Line Financial Controllers (BLFC) and Head of Management Accounts is accurate and any variances justified.This role will have a heavy focus on excel and analysis of monthly activity to budgets, forecasts and month on month variances. It is therefore key that you can demonstrate having attention to detail and ability to discuss variances sufficiently and promptly with other members of the business & demonstrate behaviours in line with our company values : Respect, Accountability, Reliability & Integrity.Key Objectives & ResponsibilitiesManagement Accounts Preparation and Control:Prepare and post prepayments, accruals, depreciation, and amortisation.Ensure balance sheet working files are updated accordingly throughout the month end process.Take ownership of monthly management accounts and reporting packs for various companies.Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, to include explanation for any adjustments required.Prepare the commission calculation.Process VAT returns.Create the intercompany reports for Marlowe and internal usage.Monthly P&L Analysis:Review the P&L for activity performed by others and seek justification for any variances.Provide detailed revenue and costs variance analysis and information to BLFC and other budget holders.Support with the provision of accurate Divisional and Group reporting and analysis.Ability to provide detailed excel spreadsheet modelling for analysis for particular cost categories.Ad Hoc Supportive Tasks:Responsible for financial year end audit packs and liaising with auditors to ensure deliverables are met.Provide all information to Group in relation to statutory reporting and review of draft statutory accounts.Support the budgeting / forecasting process, by providing information and analysis.Improve timing, content and accuracy of both financial and management reporting.Maintain procedure and process documents, while seeking continuous improvementsOther ad hoc duties as required.RequirementsQualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA) with 2 years management accounts experience gained in industryQuestions and where appropriate challenges the status quo to ensure continuous improvementExcel skill at intermediate level or aboveStrong organisational and analytical skillsAble to demonstrate flexibility by adapting work in line with changing prioritiesDemonstrates team workings and willingness to help othersKnowledge of Sage 200 an advantage.BenefitsSalary up to £42,500 per annum depending on experienceHybrid working (3x days from GL2 2AQ & 2x days from home)Royal London PensionMental Health & Well-being SchemeEmployee Recognition SchemePaid Recommend a Friend Scheme (up to £#####* for successful referrals)Paid HolidaysWCS Group of companies are committed to equal opportunities for all people and recognise the value of having diverse teams that represent the communities we serve.
