Currently seeking a skilled and experienced Management/Systems Accountant to join an established finance team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing financial management, reporting, and analysis across the business. The role will focus on leveraging the X3 finance system to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes, while collaborating with various departments to drive business performance and support decision-making.Your new role
Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and variance analysis.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Report contract and sales performance across the business.

Management Accounting:

  • Analysis of profitability for various products, customers and suppliers.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, and monitor performance against targets.
  • Consideration and administration of cross border VAT and duty charges.

Systems Management and Process Improvement:

  • Be the subject-matter expert for the X3 finance system, ensuring its optimal utilisation and adherence to best practices.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency, accuracy, and control.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot system issues, perform data reconciliations, and support system upgrades.

Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate external and bank audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Stay updated with relevant financial regulations and industry practices to ensure adherence and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor shipping container payment dates.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, warehousing, sales, and senior management, to drive business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and professionalism.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA) is preferred (or working towards).
  • Proven experience in management accounting and financial analysis.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with the X3 finance system or similar ERP systems.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to drive process improvements.
  • Knowledge of importation, VAT and carriage is desirable.
