Diamond Search Recruitment are delighted to be representing our client, a well-established, successful, and an innovative manufacturing business, based in Tonbridge, Kent. Recruiting for a Management Accountant, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting financial operations and assisting Senior Leadership with crucial decision making.



The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, great attention to detail, and ideally have proven work experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.



Key Responsibilities:



Statutory Duties




  • Ensure all legal requirements are met and all records, returns and payments required by Public Authorities such as the Inland Revenue, Customs & Excise, and Department of Social Security etc are kept and made accurately and on time.



Management Information




  • Responsible for ensuring daily transactions of the Company are fully recorded and maintained, control its assets and obligations.

  • Prepare Management accounts as required.

  • Provide information for and assist with the preparation of budgets, costings, etc as required by Directors and other managers.

  • Liaise on routine matters with the Company’s auditors.



Financial Control




  • Ensure rules of authorisation and payment for administration are adhered to. Maintain the Nominal Ledger, produce all the required monthly journals, and reconcile the balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.

  • Prepare year-end Financial Accounts and supporting schedules for submission to the auditors.

  • Responsible for Maintaining a high degree of security over financial information and assets.

  • Reconcile the profit and loss accounts as necessary to monitor costs and expenditure, identifying variances from plan and taking or proposing remedial action as appropriate. Monitor costs and expenditure identifying variances from plan and taking or proposing remedial action as appropriate.

  • Responsible for sales ledger, credit control and bought ledger activities.



Cash Flow




  • Responsible for Maintaining Cash Books on a daily basis and reconcile with bank statements.

  • Prepare BACS payments for authorisation and process as required.

  • Prepare monthly Cash Flows and review periodically so as to maintain control over the cash position and ensure daily banking procedures are being carried out.

  • Liaise with Company’s bankers requesting / providing information as required.



Payroll




  • Ensure all employees are paid on time by calculating monies due and making payments by the recognised methods.



Administration




  • Assist in the administration of the Company’s insurances, pension, life assurance and medical insurance arrangements.



Projects




  • Carry out specific projects as determined by the management team to improve the financial effectiveness of the business.



Bought / Sales Ledger’s




  • Responsible for Ensuring all invoices are registered on to the computer when received.

  • Responsible for Agreeing invoices with Orders and Goods Received Notes, code invoices, ensure all purchase invoices are approved.

  • Responsible for Batching invoices ready for posting, then post to Bought Ledger.

  • Ensure all invoices and payments are posted to the ledger prior to month end routine.

  • Produce and complete month end and VAT reports. Reconcile creditors listing and Cash Book with Nominal Ledger control. Accounts at month end. Responsible for Preparing payments and remittance advices as required, reconcile suppliers’ statements with the ledger.

  • All filing.

  • Responsible for credit control and day to day processing of sales ledger ensuring daily invoices are produced and cash receipts are updated daily.



Training




  • Assist in the completion and maintenance of individual training matrix for all personnel designated within their immediate control.

  • Ensure that all personnel have sufficient training and experience to fulfil their job function.



Management Employment Relations




  • Contribute to the overall management of the Company by attending and periodically chairing the Monthly Review Meeting.

  • Assist in the selection, training and motivation of accounts staff maintaining good employment relations and ensuring required activities are carried out efficiently.

  • Ensure accounts staff fully understand and comply with the Company’s Procedures, Rules and Health & Safety Policy and operate those fairly with recourse to the disciplinary procedure where necessary.
