Management Accountant / Finance Controller

Our Client, a leading global creative writing school, is seeking a Management Accountant / Finance Controller to join their team, in a newly created role.

Primary Purpose of the Role:
As the Management Accountant / Finance Controller, you will play a pivotal role in steering financial strategies and ensuring smooth HR operations. Your responsibilities will include preparing and analysing financial information, managing operational costs, and overseeing HR processes to ensure compliance and best practices. This role reports into the CEO of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements, budgets, cash flows, and monthly management accounts with insightful commentaries
Conduct annual budgeting and rolling 3-month re-forecasts
Manage cash flow and produce forecasts
Undertake bookkeeping for the group
Negotiate projects and manage capital expenditure
Administer staff financial benefit schemes
Prepare monthly management reports and P&L projections
Manage payroll in liaison with accountants, ensuring accuracy and highlighting anomalies
Oversee Service Level Agreements, contracts, subscriptions, and licenses
Handle general HR tasks such as managing employee records
Maintain employee handbook, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices
Administer staff holiday and sickness records
Oversee the new starter and leaver processes, dealing with queries as required
Requirements:
Minimum - Part-Qualification in Management Accounting (CIMA, ACCA)
Proficiency in Xero accounting software is desirable
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
