We’re supporting our client, a leading Technology manufacturer based in Telford, who are looking for a Maintenance Shift Leader to join their growing team. The successful Maintenance Shift Leader will have experience of equipment services, managing maintenance teams and Installation work.





Position Overview: As a Maintenance Shift Leader, you will manage a team of Maintenance Engineers to support achievement of SEQCD (safety, environmental, quality, cost and delivery) and Department targets and to provide planned preventative, routine and emergency maintenance for all plant and equipment services to support business needs.





Responsibilities for Maintenance Shift Leader:






  • To line manage a small team of maintenance engineers to meet SEQCD / department objectives and where required deal with any site-based emergency issues (any emergency or personnel related issues) as the senior technical resource on site (out of hours).

  • To manage and prioritise engineers to respond to and resolve reactive, planned, preventative and emergency maintenance requests submitted into CMMS to minimise downtime as required, to support the company.

  • To manage the delivery of installation work (Mechanical or Electrical) to the required standard, supporting production equipment adjustments including supplies and services to work equipment.

  • Update CMMS asset history by completion of Works Order information and spares / repair requirements. Health & Safety activities such as full and rapid risk assessments of tasks and occasional working under permit to work.

  • Actively contribute to company Continuous Improvement activities, applying 5S standards in all areas and ensure all work is compliant with Health and Safety standards and risk assessments.





About You:






  • You must have a proven ability working as a highly performing multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer in a high-volume automated manufacturing environment.

  • You must have a HNC in Engineering, City & Guilds 2800 Level 3 or equivalent and hold City & Guilds 2382 – IEE 18 Edition Wiring Regulations.

  • Ideally you will have completed a recognised apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

  • You must have proven experience of fault finding and repair on PLC’s, electrical, robotic, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.

  • You must have good communication skills and be highly organised due to requirement for planning manpower and workload.

  • Previous experience in people management / leadership is essential for this role.
